Read this Gospel passage aloud to the family
John 3:16-21 - God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God. And this is the verdict, that the light came into the world, but people preferred darkness to light, because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works might not be exposed. But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.

This is a Bible verse that we should all memorize if we can. It is the famous “John 3:16” quote. It is a wonderful mini-gospel: God loved us so much that He sent His beloved Son, Jesus, to die for us so we would not die in our sins, but instead have God’s Life with Him. That’s awesome.
The very first sentence of the very first paragraph of the very first section of the Catechism of the Catholic Church says beautiful words about this truth. It says that God made man to share in God’s own blessed life. We exist to exist in God. That is why God made us. God made us to be ultimately happy by sharing in His own life. This is exactly what He offers us at Easter: participation in His Life. We need to enter into Easter now, today, and forever.
As a family, pray a portion of the Rosary together (very short if children are young) reflecting on the Scripture passage above. (Optional: allow a brief time for discussion or questions from children concerning their thoughts and prayers.
